Who are we?

We're a group of high school students raising funds for a youth community maker space in the Redmond, WA area. Redmond Stem Center would function as a hub for students to work, learn, and interact with industry mentors and professionals. A few beneficiaries are listed below,

  • Students in the Redmond area will have their STEM educational resources expanded greatly, and be provided with opportunities for high level projects and working with industry professionals
  • The parents of those who participate in the Redmond STEM Center will have the chance to witness the creative minds of their children at work, and the center will also be an adult-supervised place that those who are busy with work can leave their kids.
  • Younger kids will be greatly inspired by the work of the more experienced students or mentors, through outreach events and community talks.

Activities

Some examples of activities that will be at the Redmond STEM Center are listed below.

Host FIRST Robotics Team 7461

Founded in 2018, this award-winning Robotics team is open to all high school students, competing in the FIRST robotics competition. You can learn more on the team's website.

Phoenix Rocketry Organization

Phoenix Rocketry Organization is a nonprofit team of dedicated high school students who are a regular participant in the American Rocketry Challenge (TARC), the world's largest model rocketry competition.

Host STEM Based Classes

With connections to industry professionals, RSC will host classes in programming, CAD (computer aided design), shop tools, electronics, and more.

Open Hack Nights

RSC will host open hackathons for members, promoting collaboration among students with various STEM interests in a fun and engaging way.

Create new clubs and teams

In addition to the already existing robotics and rocketry teams, RSC will create and host more clubs and teams.
